Tiny Houses with Viva Las VegaStamps!

Hi everyone!

I have a little tutorial for you over at the Viva Las VegaStamps Inspiration Blog.

I'd like to share my newest home decor with you. I was so inspired by the tiny houses from the Tim Holtz collection with Sizzix, that I just had to have them on my candle tray. I love this neutral look for my home decor.

I cut the shapes from cream cardstock, added some old book paper with Gel Medium and covered everything with gesso.

In my next step I used different stamps to create my background together with Archival Ink Shadow Grey, Pale Ochre and Versafine Toffee.

After I adhered the sentiments and the Paper dolls with pop dots,  I used strips of my Miracle Tape tape to build the houses together.

I stamped and heat embossed the roof with very chunky embossing powder, I had to add powder several times, before it had the texture I desired.

I made flaps from Washi Tape to adhere the roofs to the base. Thanks to my lovely teammate Tera for the recommendation!

I have a tray with glasses for candles, which I have redecorated many times over, i.e. Christmas, Halloween, Easter etc, now it's a more general theme I can use for a while regardless of any occasion.

As you can see, I left the backside undecorated, this way I can come up with some other embellishments if I get tired of the dolls. It also shows you that sometimes I don't look at my image before stamping and turn it upside down 😏

Have a closer look:

Sunshine Tag!

Good morning, my friends!

Over at our blog at Viva Las VegaStamps I'd like to share with you a tag I created with this awesome lady.

I have used her a quite a bit in the past, for me she suits my creations almost every time.

I started by spraying my tag with Distress Spray Stain and stamped the ray on top. I applied texture paste and let it dry, meanwhile I stamped and fuzzy cut the main image, the hat and the sentiment. I colored the lady and the hat with Koh-I-Noor pencils.

I adhered everything with pop dots.

Some close ups of the background ....

Under the Weather?

Our new challenge over at the UYS Challenge Blog is ....

WEATHER

It could be a weather themed project, or some weather embellishments (think clouds, raindrops, sunshine, snow etc).

I have decided to make a small canvas as a wall hanging. I think I already know who is going to get it :)

I applied Gesso with a stencil, when it was dry I inked it up with distress ink in three different colours. I stamped my image on tissue paper and adhered it with napkin varnish. The sentiment is computer generated.

Some hemp cord and a little wooden heart finished my project!

.... and some close ups

Happy Crafting! ♥
